Abstract
The Ready-Made Garments (RMG) industry plays a central role in Bangladesh's economic development, employing millions of workers and contributing significantly to national export earnings. In this labor-intensive sector, improving employee engagement is vital for enhancing organizational performance, productivity, and workforce stability. However, the role of organizational culture in shaping employee engagement within the RMG sector has received limited empirical attention. Therefore, the primary aim of this study is to examine the influence of organizational culture dimensions—leadership support (LS), communication practices (CP), and employee recognition (ER)—on employee engagement (EE) in the Bangladeshi RMG industry. A structured questionnaire was distributed among garment factory employees in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, and Savar. Out of 300 distributed questionnaires, 172 responses were received, and after screening for completeness, 158 responses were used for analysis. SPSS version 26 was used to conduct correlation and regression analyses at a 5% significance level. The findings reveal that LS, CP, and ER significantly and positively affect employee engagement. The study offers insights for RMG management teams seeking to create supportive work environments and concludes with implications and suggestions for future research.
