Abstract

Digital technology in agriculture was initiated through precision agriculture and precision livestock on large-scale holdings. Digital agriculture corresponds to a wave of increasingly diversified new digital solutions. However, adoption rates remain low, and concerns are being raised about the risks and impacts of digitalization. The interdisciplinary approach of #DigitAg-linking, among others, technology-focused researchers with specialists in usage (human and social sciences)-has led to an exploration on how to better align digital technologies with the expectations of various forms of agriculture. This is the theme of this chapter which is organised according to three perspectives: (1) responsible approaches, (2) facilitated access to technologies, and (3) data governance.
