Abstract

Peu de mots dominent avec autant de puissance le monde du livre aujourd'hui que celui de « nouveauté ». Ce mot s'est transformé. Il a en effet glissé d'un adjectif qualifiant le caractère nouveau de quelque chose (un livre nouveau) vers un substantif la plupart du temps conjugué au pluriel (les nouveautés), désignant alors une catégorie à part entière de livres. Ce n'est plus seulement que le livre est nouveau dans le sens où l'œuvre culturelle ainsi créée est unique, originale et s'inscrit dans une démarche de création. Le caractère nouveau vient ainsi du processus créatif qui confère au résultat (l'œuvre) une aura et une authenticité, faisant du livre un véritable prototype, unique en son genre.
