Abstract

En France, malgré les initiatives déployées au cours de la dernière décennie, le gaspillage alimentaire reste un enjeu sociétal de première importance. Si une diminution de 10 % a été constatée entre 2016 et 2020 (Eurostat, 2022), l'ambition légale de parvenir à une réduction de 50 % d'ici 2030 demeure assez lointaine et requiert encore des efforts. Sur le plan scientifique, les connaissances se sont enrichies, mais des investigations complémentaires sont indispensables afin de saisir plus finement les déterminants de ce phénomène et d'accompagner de manière plus efficiente les actions déjà engagées, notamment celles liées à la communication persuasive. Ainsi, l'objectif de ce travail de recherche est d'analyser l'efficacité de deux leviers communicationnels : le ton (soutenant versus contraignant) et le format (vidéo TikTok versus affiche statique) sur l'intention des jeunes à réduire le gaspillage alimentaire, en mobilisant la théorie de l'autodétermination (TAD) comme cadre théorique. L'expérimentation menée révèle que la motivation intrinsèque renforce à la fois l'intention et le passage à l'action, tandis qu'un ton soutenant l'autonomie et un format vidéo court de type TikTok augmentent particulièrement l'intention. Aucun effet d'interaction n'a toutefois été mis en évidence : chacun de ces leviers exerce son influence de manière indépendante. Ces résultats soulignent l'intérêt des messages motivants, immersifs et alignés sur les pratiques médiatiques contemporaines afin de favoriser un engagement environnemental durable chez les jeunes.
