Au menu: Ecrasé de fourmis, sauterelles grillées, steaks de moustiques, chips de grillons…»: Une approche par le dessin des représentations enfantines des insectes et de l’entomophagie

Fully present in the eating habits of many countries, insects are almost absent from Western food. While these small animals have nutritional properties far superior to traditional meats and their farming is particularly environmentally friendly, they cause fear and disgust among adult Western consumers. Using graphic productions from 5 to 12 years old resulting from three drawing tasks, we show that, contrary to adults' representations, children's representations of insect ingestion evoke less obstacles to this type of food and that most of them would be ready to experiment it.
