Abstract

The Physical Internet envisions open, hyperconnected logistics where resources flow across organizational boundaries. This paper addresses an underexplored element: resource pooling among warehouses in dense clusters. We propose a framework where multiple independent stakeholders form a coalition, governed by a neutral orchestrator, to share different types of resources. Under demand uncertainty, the coalition decides how many existing resources to reserve and how many new resources to purchase. A two‑stage stochastic program ensures each stakeholder benefits. The research advances the Physical Internet by operationalizing hyperconnected warehouse networks through a practical, multi‑stakeholder sharing mechanism.
