Abstract

Cet article analyse les perceptions et les comportements environnementaux de la classe moyenne des petites et moyennes villes (PMV) au Chili et en Argentine. Il s'appuie sur des entretiens semi-dirigés menés en 2024 auprès de membres de la classe moyenne dans quatre PMV. Les résultats montrent que ces populations, dépendantes des ressources naturelles et exposées aux chocs climatiques, expriment une préoccupation forte face aux enjeux environnementaux locaux. Les comportements pro-environnementaux existent mais restent limités, notamment du fait de contraintes infrastructurelles et institutionnelles. Enfin, aucune relation claire n'apparaît entre les perceptions et les comportements environnementaux et la position socio-économique ou le positionnement politique des individus.
