Abstract

Les jeux sérieux rencontrent un intérêt croissant pour leur potentiel d'apprentissage et de transformation des comportements. En management interculturel coexistent des jeux qui demandent aux participants d'incarner un personnage précis qu'ils choisissent ou qu'on leur attribue, avec d'autres dans lesquels les joueurs jouent leur propre personne. Or, les modalités de jeu qui favorisent les impacts positifs sur les objectifs fixés restent insuffisamment connues. Dans quelle mesure l'identification des participants aux personnages influence-t-elle la dynamique (ou le déroulement) et l'atteinte des objectifs d'un jeu sérieux ? Cette recherche analyse des données recueillies auprès de 160 participants à une session massive du jeu Ma Terre qui vise la réduction des Gaz à Effets de Serre (GES) dans le milieu universitaire. Les résultats montrent que la proximité perçue avec le personnage incarné est faiblement corrélée à la durée d'incarnation du personnage assigné sur la durée du jeu. Le temps d'incarnation des personnages n'est d'ailleurs pas lié à la performance. En revanche, plus les joueurs d'une table se sentent collectivement proches des personnages qui leur ont été assignés, plus le collectif est performant.
