Abstract
Les approches critiques ne visent pas seulement à comprendre le monde. Elles visent aussi à le transformer (Horkheimer, 1974) Dans le chemin double de la théorie et de la pratique (Voirol, 2013). C'est ainsi que Spicer, Alvesson et Kärreman (2009) appellent les recherches en management à viser la performativité critique, autrement dit à s'engager pour contribuer à changer ce qu'elles décrivent. Pour les chercheurs critiques en communication organisationnelle (Heller, Huet & Vidaillet, 2013), vouloir influencer les évolutions du travail et des organisations semble d'autant plus souhaitable que le travail est souvent évalué en lien avec sa performance et que les mutations (télétravail et communications numériques, contrats précaires et carrières hachées…) les inscrivent toujours davantage dans des sociétés de contrôle (Deleuze, 1990). De plus, pour Derrida (1972), la performativité est avant tout affaire de communication, comprise non pas comme transmission d'un sens mais comme production d'effets. Nous voudrions inviter à un débat à propos de ce que signifierait, pour les recherches critiques en communication organisationnelle, de donner la priorité à la performativité. Nous défendrons ici l'intérêt de nous inspirer pour cela des performance studies, ce qui d'une certaine manière pourrait signifier considérer les recherches critiques en communication organisationnelle comme des performances.
