Abstract

Placés devant certaines images, nous nous rendons compte que les forcer dans nos cadres théoriques – comme illustration ou incarnation – est inconvenant éthiquement, politiquement et éthiquement. Ces images nous forcent à (re-penser). Il ne s'agit plus de les analyser mais de leur accorder hospitalité, les laisser travailler en nous, nous affecter, nous bousculer, créer de nouveaux langages et concepts. Nous voudrions nous demander comment peut-on apprendre à partir des images autrement que par le geste habituel de l'analyse, commandé par le ou la chercheur.e. Pour cela nous suivrons les approches des images mobilisées par un ensemble de recherches récentes expérimentant d'autres façons d'utiliser les images. Nous étudierons comment les différents auteurs.trices mobilisent les images en montrant qu'ils suivent ainsi, explicitement ou non, des gestes proposés par des auteurs comme Rancière, Rosa, Mondzain, Lingis, Nancy, Didi-Huberman. Nous qualifierons ces approches d'images-écarts, images-résonance, images-visage, images-rivage et images montage. Nous proposerons que dans ces approches se tient une autre image de la pensée (au sens de Deleuze), qu'il s'agit là d'images pensives (Simondon), et qu'il y a là non seulement un geste épistémologique, mais également politique et éthique, qui est possiblement, selon l'expression de Lingis, celui d'une éthique minoritaire.
