Abstract

This document analyzes the prospects for fiscal reform in New Caledonia in the face of a potential decrease in financial transfers from mainland France. The author highlights the need to modernize an obsolete tax system to turn it into a genuine lever for economic growth and sovereignty. Through a SWOT analysis, the text examines the archipelago's strengths and vulnerabilities, while drawing inspiration from the success models of other island economies such as Singapore or Mauritius. The study advocates for an attractiveness strategy based on legal innovation and specialization in niche sectors. In conclusion, the author urges decision-makers to be bold in building an autonomous and resilient economic model within a changing international context.
