Abstract

This text introduces the proceedings of an academic symposium dedicated to New Caledonia's economic outlook following the referendum period. The work gathers contributions from academic experts and professionals to analyze the potential consequences of political emancipation on the territory's financial stability. The authors successively examine macroeconomic indicators, regional integration through trade, and the functioning of the local monetary and banking systems. A central focus of the study is the necessity of identifying alternative growth drivers to reduce the historical dependency on the nickel industry. The final objective is to propose concrete pathways for building a more robust and autonomous economic model to address future institutional challenges.
