Abstract

The location choices of households and firms within urban and metropolitan areas are governed by various trade-off mechanisms between accessibility and property prices. While the importance of different forms of accessibility in location choice has been well established, the literature does not clearly indicate how the behavior of various categories of households and firms may evolve over time. Drawing on a synthesis of research focused on the Lyon metropolitan area between 1999 and 2013, the objective of this article is to highlight the heterogeneity of the effects of accessibility on the location choices of different household and firm profiles.
