Abstract

La valeur du temps est la propension des agents à payer pour gagner du temps. C'est un paramètre central dans la modélisation des comportements (notamment de choix modal) et dans l'évaluation de politiques publiques ou de projets d'infrastructure. En transport de marchandises, elle a deux composants : d'une part, une réduction de temps de trajet permet aux transporteurs de réduire leurs coûts de production (valeur du temps transporteur) ; d'autre part, elle permet aux chargeurs -les clients des transporteurs -de diminuer leurs propres coûts (valeur du temps chargeur). La valeur du temps chargeur s'explique en particulier par la volonté des chargeurs de réduire leurs stocks et le coût d'opportunité du capital associé, et aussi d'améliorer la flexibilité de leur logistique, ce qui est particulièrement utile pour les chargeurs exposés à divers aléas.
