The moderating role of emotional intelligence between strategic management of technology and organizational performance: A framework for research and practice

Abstract

In today's extremely competitive business environment, modern technology touches on almost everything vital to an organization's presence in an industry. Successful management of technology-as a source of competitive advantage is an essential consequence for many organizations. It is necessary to understand, communicate and assimilate technology strategy with the business strategies in order to increase the performance of a business organization. Emotional intelligence is one of the most vital and essential psychological factors responsible for defining the relationship between managers and employees in their work environment. In this paper the authors propose a conceptual framework through an in depth review of literature, strategic management of technology, organizational performance and emotional intelligence. It is envisaged that the proposed model will be able to play a crucial role in order to stimulate beneficial effects towards an organization's overall performance.
