The article seeks to respond to recent calls for methodological diversification within logistics and SCM by proposing a methodology for future studies based on the principles of practice theory. One of the merits of practice theory lies in the idea that social relations and processes tend to settle into two main forms: in bodies (habitus) and in things (field and capital). Furthermore, by emphasizing practices as vectors of power and domination, practice theory can broaden conceptualizations of the supply chain to include actors who have previously been overlooked. Within the framework of practice theory, researchers are required to study practices through the dual lens of dispositional logics and the logics of position and positioning, which give practices their shape, meaning, and social efficacy. The authors begin by presenting the main methodological challenges associated with applying practice theory in the field of logistics and SCM. They then propose a methodological approach for capturing and interpreting the practices of logistics actors, as well as the habitus, field, and capitals at play.
