Abstract

Discrète, technique, souvent méconnue, la réassurance est pourtant devenue un rouage fondamental du système assurantiel contemporain. À l'intersection du droit, de l'économie et de l'histoire, elle soulève des enjeux décisifs pour notre époque : couverture des risques climatiques, pandémiques, technologiques, ou encore arbitrage de l'assurabilité. Issu d'un colloque réunissant universitaires, praticiens et jeunes chercheurs, cet ouvrage se propose de lever le voile sur une activité aussi complexe que stratégique. De ses racines médiévales à ses formes contemporaines, de la spéculation financière aux captives d'entreprise, la réassurance apparaît comme un monde à part, régi par ses codes, ses pratiques et ses équilibres subtils. À l'heure où l'incertitude gagne du terrain, comprendre la réassurance, c'est éclairer les mécanismes invisibles qui sous-tendent notre rapport collectif au risque.
