Abstract

Il faut dire que ce sujet de la motivation et l'engagement au travail est souvent mal posé. Il y a par exemple le mythe d'une ligne de démarcation entre, d'un côté, ceux qui sont nés motivés et s'engageraient corps et âmes au travail de manière inconditionnelle, et, de l'autre, les glandeurs ou autres tire-au-flanc, qui seraient nés avec un poil dans la main. La réalité est plus complexe puisque l'engagement à ceci de commun avec les chansons populaires qu'il peut s'en aller et revenir ; il n'est ni figé et ni insensible au contexte. Howard Klein, de l'université de l'Ohio, et trois collègues ont le mérite de proposer un nouveau regard sur l'engagement.
