L’auto-évaluation comme facteur de prévention

Abstract

Le stress est l'un des principaux facteurs à l'origine des erreurs, surtout s'il perturbe suffisamment l'individu pour se transformer en panique au cours de laquelle ce dernier perd tous ses moyens. Si l'on prend l'exemple des pilotes d'avion, leur âge et leur niveau d'expérience sont traditionnellement considérés comme des indicateurs de leur capacité à faire face avec succès à des aléas complexes à gérer. Samuel Vine, chercheur à l'université Exeter au Royaume-Uni, vient toutefois de démontrer que l'auto-évaluation des pilotes était un critère encore plus fiable pour jauger de leur capacité à gérer un accident tel qu'une panne moteur intervenant peu après le décollage.
