Abstract

A partir du cas du constructeur automobile allemand Opel (General Motors), nous analysons les influences réciproques de la conception du management d'Alfred P. Sloan et de Reinhard Höhn sur les formations de cadres supérieurs ( executive education) entre 1950 et 1970 en Europe de l'Ouest. Les concepts de délégation de responsabilité et de mission tactique appliqués au leadership dans les relations aux employés promus dans le Harzburger Modell de Höhn rejoignent ceux promus par Peter Drucker s'appuyant sur Sloan avec le management par objectifs. L'Akademie für Führungskräfte de Bad Harzburg de Höhn fut nourrit de sa brillante expérience administrative dans la SS, le MIT Management de l'expérience d'Alfred P. Sloan à la General Motors. Toutefois les principes de management des organisations promus par ses institutions présentent une forte similitude. L'attention portée par Höhn aux risques de démission intérieure trouve une réponse en Allemagne dans la négociation collective et dans les pratiques rémunération incitative individuelle de Sloan qui seront largement diffusées en Europe occidentale à partir des années 1980.
