Abstract

Le Contrat psychologique (PCO, Psychological Contract in Organizations) est une théorie et une méthode qui permet de mieux comprendre pourquoi, face à un même événement, certains percevront une violation contractuelle et d'autres, un simple ajustement. Fondé fin 1990 aux Etats-Unis, ces travaux en comportement organisationnel se développent dans les pays francophones à partir de leur traduction/adaptation en 2015. Le PCO décrit la complexité et la varité des engagements organisationnels : il est idiosyncrasique (personnel et biographique) mais aussi normatif, c'est-à-dire partagé par plusieurs individus dans une profession ; il est relationnel lorsque l'enjeu vise absolument à maintenir l'engagement ou à l'inverse purement transactionnel. Face aux problématiques de RSE (responsabilité sociétale des entreprises), respecter et gérer ces formes d'engagement contractuel améliorent la vie organisationnelle.
