Abstract

The rapid economic transformation of Tangier has significantly reshaped the territorial organization of the region and raises critical questions regarding the strategic role of logistics in regional competitiveness and attractiveness. This study examines how logistics facilities influence urban spatial structures and shape the socio-economic dynamics of the territory. The research is built on a dual approach: (i) a conceptual clarification of the relationships between logistics, territorial planning and regional development, and (ii) a multi-criteria territorial analysis based on cartographic work integrating economic, sociodemographic and environmental indicators. The results highlight a strong correlation between the expansion of logistics infrastructures, the economic specialization of the city and the growing demand for employment. They also underline the decisive influence of public planning strategies in structuring logistics locations and guiding the territorial reconfiguration of Tangier. The study underscores the need for integrated and sustainable planning approaches to effectively accompany these dynamics.
