Abstract

Pour le pape François, l'objectif central de l'éducation morale est de former au bien et de faire grandir la capacité de discernement des sujets. Mais celle-ci n'est pas détachée des capacités qui construisent le rapport du sujet à soi, aux autres, au monde et en font un être autonome. Le rôle de l'éducation morale consiste à promouvoir ces diverses capacités pour permettre aux sujets d'agir de manière responsable dans l'histoire. Les deux textes examinés offrent aussi des orientations pour une éducation morale qui ne donne pas aux normes la première place. Le pape insiste plutôt sur un changement de regard sur les situations auquel il faut initier les sujets pour qu'ils puissent les affronter de manière responsable, et sur la formation d'habitudes dans la recherche et la mise en pratique du bien en toutes circonstances.
