Abstract

« La route précède le développement », disait le président ivoirien Félix Houphouët-Boigny. Aujourd'hui, alors que le continent africain représente 1/5e des terres émergées et un 1/6e de la population mondiale, il pèse pour moins de 3 % des valeurs commerciales échangées et moins de 3 % des manutentions conteneurisées mondiales. Quant aux flux commerciaux intra-africains, ils ne représentent que 15 % en volume, contre 67 % pour l'Europe. Pour que l'émergence se nourrisse des routes africaines de demain, voici un tour d'horizon des défis et opportunités portuaires et logistiques continentaux actuels.
