Abstract

La recherche en immersion forte, sur le mode du wwoofing, est peu documentée en sciences de gestion et dans les SHS en général. Ce mode d'observation en immersion longue et totale (gîte et couvert contre travail bénévole), implique autant le corps que l'esprit et le cœur -- ou les émotions --, et intensifie ce qu'on appelle "l'observation participante" et même la "participation observante". Le propos s'appuie sur l'expérience de 4 immersions différentes en wwoofing temps plein pour décrire les avantages et difficultés de cette modalité de recherche, qui dépasse ici le cadre des seules organisations agricoles (une ferme en GAEC polyculture, élevage viande bovine et maraîchage ; une E.I. de production d'œufs ; une fédération de fabricants et installateurs de poêles de masse ; une SAS conserverie). La réflexion associée interroge les positionnements épistémologiques, les interactions entre l'observateur et les acteurs observés, les postures et évolutions de l'observateur dans ce contexte qui mêle les sphères personnelles et professionnelles, ainsi que les effets, intentionnels ou non, de ces temps partagés.
