Abstract

Les économistes ne peuvent développer une analyse économique du patrimoine qu'en prenant au sérieux la catégorie de patrimoine, c-a-d en inventant une conceptualisation propre du patrimoine, donc en cessant de rabattre la notion de patrimoine sur les catégories traditionnelles de l'économie, en l'espèce sur celle de capital, en cessant d'identifier patrimoine et capital. Cela est-il possible ? Oui, parce que le regard que les économistes portent sur le patrimoine est en train de changer. La thèse qui sera avancée est celle du passage d'une conception étroite et formaliste du patrimoine à une conception large et substantive du patrimoine permettant d'étudier, avec les outils de l'analyse économique, la relation entre dynamique des patrimoines et dynamique sociale.
