Abstract
Face aux problématiques liées à la sous-utilisation et à la mauvaise utilisation des produits complexes, de nombreuses entreprises proposent des outils de formation à leurs acheteurs. Cependant, si la littérature en marketing s'est largement intéressée aux modalités de déploiement et aux apports pour l'entreprise des outils d'éducation client, elle a en revanche accordé peu d'attention à leurs effets perceptuels et comportementaux dans une perspective client. Au travers d'une approche qualitative articulée autour de 22 entretiens de professionnels et de consommateurs, cette recherche analyse les effets des outils de formation client sur les différents bénéfices et sacrifices perçus du produit complexe. Elle identifie également des facteurs (liés au consommateur et au type d'outil) pouvant affecter les effets de l'éducation client. Enfin, elle met en lumière certaines conséquences comportementales de ces outils, tant sur le plan individuel (intensité d'usage optimale du produit complexe) que collectif (comportement d'usage éco-responsable du client).
