Abstract

This research explores the levers available to European organizations to lead the transition to an economic model that meets today's global challenges. Our qualitative study consists of 82 interviews conducted in 16 European organizations. Based on the theory of dynamic capabilities, we analyze how to mobilize three crucial elements: financial performance, innovation and social responsibility. Our results show that placing people at the heart of this transition and choosing a collective approach are fundamental mechanisms. We also highlight the role of the manager and his or her managerial courage.
