Euroisation unilatérale dans les Balkans

Abstract

Des expériences récentes d'euroisation unilatérale ont été menées dans les Balkans, au Monténégro et au Kosovo. Cette décision a été fondamentalement prise dans le souci de mettre fin à une longue période d'instabilité monétaire. L'euroisation unilatérale a permis une désinflation continue et efficace depuis 2001 jusqu'aujourd'hui, et une crédibilité retrouvée du système monétaire. Le maintien de ce sentier de stabilité retrouvée dépendra, dans l'optique de la théorie des zones monétaires optimales, du rythme d'intégration commerciale et financière du Monténégro avec l'UE. Toutefois, la question demeure de savoir comment ces pays se positionneront par rapport à l'UEM au seuil de leur intégration dans l'UE.
