Abstract

L'intégration économique de l'Europe est supposée favoriser la concurrence, ce qui devrait réduire les rentes de monopole et améliorer l'efficacité des entreprises. Pour voir si les banques européennes ont dû faire face à une augmentation de la concurrence, nous regardons l'évolution de leurs coûts et de leur profitabilité entre 1992 et 1998.
