Abstract

This course examines the interplay between geography and strategy in a globalized world. It begins by exploring the role of lobbying as a tool of influence and power in geostrategy, showing how actors shape political and economic decisions at both national and international levels. The discussion then moves to the new economic geography, highlighting how the location of activities, the formation of clusters, and the structure of networks affect the strategic choices of companies and states. The course also investigates the relationship between strategy and geography, emphasizing how spatial positioning and geographic context influence decisions related to expansion, resource control, and the management of flows. Finally, it presents geostrategy as a lever for international growth, illustrating how organizations and states leverage spatial and territorial logic to enhance competitiveness and extend their influence beyond borders.
