Abstract

L'ouvrage de Nicolas Chachereau (Lausanne) Les débuts du système suisse des brevets d'invention (1873-1914), tiré de sa thèse de doctorat, retrace le rôle du système des brevets dans le développement économique de la Suisse au tournant du XXe siècle, en analysant l'adoption - tardive par rapport à ses voisins européens - de la loi fédérale sur les brevets d'invention de 1888, et ses applications jusqu'au début de la première Guerre Mondiale. Pour Léo Charles (Rennes), qui en signe la recension, il s'agit d'un ouvrage d'une « très grande qualité » et remarquable par son positionnement méthodologique, qui renouvelle l'historiographie du sujet en « croisant les apports de l'histoire, de l'économie, de la science politique, de la sociologie et du droit ».
