Profil de formation et insertion professionnelle : une modélisation des trajectoires des diplômés de la FSEG/USSGB

In a context of expanding higher education and growing tensions in the Malian labor market, this study analyzes the professional integration trajectories of graduates from the Faculty of Economics and Management (FSEG) at the University of Social Sciences and Management of Bamako (USSGB). Using a mixed-methods approach that combines a multinomial logit model with semi-structured interviews, it examines the influence of academic, social, and experiential variables on access to employment—whether in the field of study, outside the field, or in alternative forms of activity. The results show that employment outcomes are strongly influenced by the field of study, access to meaningful internships, social background, and place of residence. Completing a long-term internship aligned with the initial academic profile significantly increases the probability of employment in the trained field. The study confirms a persistent mismatch between education and employment and highlights the crucial role of social capital in shaping career paths. Recommendations are offered for universities, public authorities, and students to improve employability in a still-weakly structured institutional environment.
