Abstract

Integrating CSR into the core of its strategy is an imperative that generates value for the corporate strategy. This is the crux of the topic of this research paper, first in the concept of CSR and then defining to what extent commitment to CSR is a strategic step. From an analysis of the evolution of various concepts such as sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, the first part of the article argues that corporate citizenship is the result of societal change and its undeniable limitations. Then, in the second part in the practical aspect, the study concluded that AstraZeneca has a strategy that expresses the spirit of social responsibility towards employees in particular and towards the world as a whole. It also concluded that the successful implementation of social responsibility requires the support, attention, and commitment of senior management and the integration of all efforts at all levels of the company.
