Abstract

Leadership is a theme, as old and outdated as it is current and contemporary. An effective business leader has a multitude of traits and characteristics that encourage employees to follow him. Certain qualities, such as compassion and integrity, possess them naturally, and others are acquired by the leader through training and experience. The qualities of an effective business leader inspire the trust and respect of employees and stimulate productivity at work. Contemporary leadership has not changed in terms of the package of qualities that define it, but in the way, it is perceived and appreciated by employees in terms of personal characteristics to fulfill their role as leaders. How and in what way the qualities of leaders are appreciated is the subject of this study. Specifically, a comparative analysis between the assessments of employees and that of the leaders themselves.
