Abstract

Née militaire chez le général Jomini (Colin et Paché, 1988 ; Colin, 1996), jugée totalitaire par des sociologues contemporains (Quet, 2022 ; Le Goff, 2025), la logistique semble vouée aux gémonies, salie aussi bien par son origine belliqueuse, son ambition totalitaire (maîtriser les flux physiques et les flux d'information – rien que ça !) et son irresponsabilité sociale et environnementale : que ce soit sur longues distances ou pour le dernier kilomètre, le transport est une activité polluante et confiée à un prolétariat universellement malmené. Pourtant, la logistique est également la fonction de gestion dont la défaillance est la moins supportable. L'habitude de nos sociétés à une abondance relative est d'abord l'accoutumance de tout un chacun à la performance logistique, aussi bien pour le commerce mondialisé que pour les secours humanitaires. La moindre rupture – léger retard ou réelle pénurie – prend des allures de catastrophe. Il est donc vital que chercheurs et praticiens de ce champ l'actualisent de l'intérieur, avec une logique moins déterministe et technicienne mais plus sensible aux enjeux du monde actuel. Une mise à jour critique essentielle pour rendre la discipline compatible avec, à la fois, l'urgence climatique et l'exigence sociale. Concevoir des chaînes logistiques sobres et résilientes, repenser le supply chain management dans une perspective locale, économe et durable, n'est plus une option mais un devoir.
