Abstract

In this work, the author examines the influence of religious education on economic and professional integration in Mali, a multi-religious country facing challenges of social cohesion and economic development. Using a mixed-methods approach and a sample of 384 participants, the study compares Quranic and Christian schools to assess their contribution to human capital formation. The findings reveal that, while both play an important role in spiritual development, their impact on economic integration varies: Quranic schools strengthen social capital but struggle to prepare students for the labor market, whereas Christian systems are more effective in promoting employability through transferable skills. This work makes a significant contribution to the understanding of religious education in Mali, highlighting the need for adapted educational policies and opening avenues for future research aimed at fostering more inclusive economic integration.
