Abstract

"This book is not a cry. It is a silence endured." In March 2025, Étienne Fakaba Sissoko was released from prison after twelve months of incarceration for publishing a book deemed disturbing: Propaganda, Agitation, Harassment. What he carried with him was neither anger nor revenge, but a notebook of vigilance. Written in the final hours of his captivity, this intimate and lucid account plunges us into a long, slow, sometimes violent night—yet one that is deeply human. From his cell, amidst silent prayers, quiet brotherhood, and inner journeys, the author reflects on injustice, waiting, faith, power… and freedom. This book is an offering. A spiritual passage. A hymn to the silences that save, and to the voices that others try to silence. For those who doubt. For those who endure. For those who keep watch.
