Abstract

This proposal aims at examining users' perceptions and expectations regarding digital eco-design applied to websites, given growing environmental challenges, understanding how users perceive and evaluate eco-design approaches becomes essential. A qualitative methodology is based on 18 semi-structured interviews exploring their perceptions and expectations regarding these practices. Results indicate that consumers' knowledge of websites' environmental impacts remains spontaneously limited. Results also highlight that consumers expect the exemplarity of certain companies or organizations regarding the environmental impact of their website.
