Abstract

Le parc national de Virunga, le plus ancien parc d'Afrique, célèbre son 100e anniversaire. Virunga abrite une variété inégalée de paysages et une biodiversité unique, notamment la seule population de gorilles de montagne au monde. Une équipe de spécialistes cartographie la situation actuelle, en tenant compte à la fois de l'histoire et de l'avenir. Avec des photographies magnifiques et des cartes détaillées, ce livre est un chef-d'œuvre visuel Le parc national de Virunga, poumon vert de l'est de la République démocratique du Congo, est le plus ancien parc naturel d'Afrique. Le parc est d'une beauté à couper le souffle et offre une diversité inégalée d'écosystèmes - des volcans actifs aux forêts tropicales humides, des glaciersdes sommets du Rwenzori aux savanes de Rwindi. Il abrite une faune exceptionnelle, notamment les derniers gorilles de montagne du monde. Grâce à ces caractéristiques uniques, Virunga est classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
