Anis Bajrektarević outlines the concept and drivers of environmental crime, arguing for urgent global legal–political action. Aurelian Olimpiu Sabău-Pop contributes two EU justice studies: the Union's evolving instruments against organized crime and the operation of the European Arrest Warrant before Romanian courts. Aliona Balan traces European integration as a long-standing elite desideratum across Central and Eastern Europe. Dumitru Cazac evaluates Transnistria through classical statehood criteria, highlighting tensions between effectiveness and legality. A second essay by Anis H. Bajrektarević analyzes the trajectory and strategic logics of Sino–American decoupling. Finally, Nicoleta Vasilcovschi surveys historical and economic changes in Canadian education during the 19th–20th centuries to illuminate policy–development linkages. Together, the articles map security, legal, and historical dimensions of Europe's internal transformations and its wider geopolitical environment. The Journal was founded back in 2007 by two Jean Monnet Professors: the venerable Michel Labori, PhD (France) and Simion Costea, PhD, (Romania), including several other Jean Monnet Professors from different EU countries as members of the scientific and editorial board. The Jean Monnet Project European Union: History, Policies, and Opportunities for Active European Citizenship (EU Interdisciplinary Studies) concentrated financial and human resources to create L'Europe Unie/ United Europe and lead it to academic acknowledgement.
