Abstract

En se focalisant sur les évolutions du marché philatélique français, cet article met en exergue l'importance des normes et conventions de qualité qui ont permis l'inscription de la philatélie dans une logique marchande. L'établissement de conventions de qualité était en effet une condition nécessaire pour désingulariser les échanges philatéliques et surmonter l'incertitude relative à la définition et au maintien de la valeur des timbres échangés. La diffusion de ces conventions contribua par ailleurs à harmoniser les pratiques philatéliques sur l'ensemble du territoire national, et prépara l'avènement d'un marché national.
