Abstract

Research about sustainable development shows the difficulty for companies to reach the economic performance objectives collectively and the sustainable criteria. This article aims at showing that this situation is above all triggered by the necessity of integrating the stakeholders ‘expectations as regards the classic tools of organization governance. The in-depth study of the Enercoop case - principally based on a qualitative method - shows that the particular mode of governance, specific the Society Cooperative of Collective Interest (SCIC), can be considered as a way of reconciling the convergent objectives and create value for stakeholders. A particular attention will be paid to the role played by the network of strong ties in this context.
