Similarity of KIP's patterns: Clustering the Unstructured

Abstract

Knowledge intensive process (KIP) are processes recently highlighted by the huge amount of information processed by our contemporary society. Current challenges concern the flexibility of the systems that support KIP (how to handle unexpected activities), and how to make this flexibility comply with quick rule and regulation changes during execution. Following Cognini's (2016) conclusions, the reuse of past cases (previous process executions) has not been well studied. Process fragments could be reused depending on the situation. Inspired by business process similarity techniques, we propose to produce these fragments with Formal Concept Analysis (for structure) and hypernyms (for semantic).
