Abstract

À partir des récits de vie professionnelle de 22 professeurs de l'enseignement public secondaire en France, cette recherche a pour objectif de mieux comprendre le bienêtre au travail (BET) pour les enseignants. Nos résultats montrent que la conception eudémonique du BET repose sur le dépassement du matérialisme, mais revêt aussi et surtout un aspect allocentré (au sens de « tourné vers les autres »), que nous proposons d'étudier dans cet article. On constate en effet dans les discours des narrateurs que le BET est alimenté non pas seulement par des éléments matériels et/ou égocentrés tels que le confort ou la carrière et ses conséquences sur la rémunération, mais aussi par des éléments à la fois non matériels et allocentrés. Nous proposons alors d'enrichir les conceptions actuellement connues du BET, par la prise en compte d'une nouvelle composante du BET eudémonique : l'allocentrisme au service d'un bien-être collectif. Sur le plan pratique, les implications managériales de cet enrichissement sont envisagées et discutées.
