Abstract

How can entrepreneurship coaches better meet entrepreneurs' needs for human support? Based on this question, this article seeks to gain a better understanding of situations where senior coaches mobilize different support approaches. Six main problematic situations were identified, along with the action and communication strategies generally associated with them. More topical than ever, the article looks at how it is possible to support an individual involved in a project that also concerns his identity and generates strong emotions, while respecting an implicit contract for the project's success. An action research was carried out in 2011 with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which involved around twenty advisers with different levels of experience. Finally, it discusses the specific place of emotions in the postures and strategies of coaches and proposes approaches for taking things further today.
