Abstract

This paper examines urban mobility in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre, focusing specifically on Trensurb (Porto Alegre Urban Trains Company SA). The study gathered input from both the company's managers and its users. In addition to analyzing the urban mobility services provided by Trensurb, the study also explored how these services impact the health of the users. To provide a point of reference, the same questionnaire was administered to Trensurb users, who evaluated the company, and to users of railway services in certain parts of Europe. Although the latter group is not representative of the broader population due to its small size and the specific locations selected for the survey, it provides a sufficient basis for understanding users' perceptions of the topics analyzed. The results indicate that local users perceive health-related issues quite differently compared to European users, reflecting both significant differences in service quality and distinct user expectations.
