'Confluence médiatique' et protestations sociales avant la révolution du 25 janvier en Égypte : questionnements

Abstract

Le processus de démonopolisation médiatique a été un allié redoutable pour l'expression du conflit social et politique en Égypte, bien avant la révolution du 25 janvier 2011. L'article tente d'analyser les relations entre les acteurs médiatiques et les acteurs des mouvements sociaux. L'article pose l'hypothèse de la domination du binôme 'presse privée-télévision satellitaire' dans la confluence médiatique égyptienne. Il tentera de comprendre les 'intérêts à agir' de l'investissement du secteur privé des affaires dans une presse indépendante et même critique. Puis, il mettra en exergue les principaux apports de la démonopolisation du champ médiatique sur l'action contestataire et également certaines des limites qu'elle lui a 'imposées'. Ce dernier constat ne remet pas en cause l'image très positive en faveur de l'action contestataire de la part des journalistes égyptiens. La dernière partie posera l'importance d'analyser une telle attitude dans le cadre de la construction historique du métier de journaliste en Égypte et également du déclassement social que ces acteurs ont subi ces dernières décennies.
