Abstract

Degrowth, as understood by Serge Latouche, is another way to describe how to "get out of economics". This perspective, which is the fruit of a long intellectual trajectory, relies on a dense set of theories that involves economics, anthropology, philosophy, linguistics and psychoanalysis. Despite this complexity, "Lacano-Marxism" seems to be the relevant theoretical perspective to understand social change envisaged by this author. It also explains why such a change is extremely difficult to conceive.
