L'extension du camp militaire du Larzac et les perspectives de changement économique et social

Abstract

Synthèse d'une étude socioéconomique réalisée en 1979 à la demande des élus de la zone du Larzac désireux de mesurer l'impact du projet d'extension du camp militaire. L'analyse des recensement des 15 communes concernées (y compris Millau) fait apparaitre le phénomène d'intégration urbaine et de la fonctionnalisation urbaine de la zone. L'activité de manœuvres militaires apparait contrariété de cette recomposition économique fragile et peu visible, le Larzac étant vu alors comme une espace agricole et en désertification. Le rapport n'avait pas été rendu public par le SYVOM de Nant commanditaire de l'étude: ses conclusions venaient en contrariété avec le discours par lequel l'activité militaire contribuait au développement du sud Aveyron.
